GOC595067 - Contractor - Generator Replacement

This Tender is to replace the existing generator with an outdoor package generator, which will serve the complete building. For budget purposes, the unit size was assumed to be 250kVA. An insulated and heated enclosure for the generator is suggested for reliability. It is suggested to install the generator either in the grassy area next to the pad mount transformer or behind the fuel tanks off the parking lot next to the lot line. The connection path between the generator and the main service wiring at the transformer will be very short.
 
There is a risk of conflict with any existing underground services, which remains unknown at this time. The load bank connection and transfer switch will be removed as it will become unnecessary. The existing generator room can be converted to a storage room (free space will be required in front of the electrical panel).
 
The existing generator will be kept in service until the new unit is up and running so there will be no disruption or risk of lack of emergency power.
 
The exterior light fixtures will be on emergency power without any rewiring in the building. The oil piping through the building for the purposes of the generator will not be required. As there will be emergency power for the complete building, there will be no restrictions on client operations.
 
Commissioning Requirements
Commissioning will be required to observe functional testing of the generator and transfer switch. The unit will be specified with factory testing and report. This will be done by Design Consultant.
 
Most of this work can be done during business hours, but some areas will have to be accessed after hours. This work can be done at any time of the year. RCMP Facility Access 2 or higher security clearance is required to bid on this work.
