GOC990345-CS - Repair Exterior Granite, Front Steps and Handrails

The project is to address all immediate emergency items pertaining to health and safety of the public. Work to include resetting all misaligned granite slabs at both South and East stairs and repairing uneven surfaces at terrace in front of the staircase, as well as runs and risers of both granite stairs. Replace damaged stone sections of the granite steps and restore worn-out surfaces to prevent any slips. Restore and repair existing damaged sections of the metal handrail and deteriorated fasteners. The handrails that require repairs are located at the two exits from B1 at the eastern parking (two handrails each). There is one stand-alone handrail (not attached to a wall) that is very loose and is located directly adjacent to the flag podium at the north eastern corner of the property. As a "Classified" federal heritage building, all maintenance and repair projects must be submitted to the FHBRO for review prior to undertaking the work with adequate time for required adjustments prior to tendering.
