Interior Lighting Retrofit to LED is identified in the Energy Audit completed by BGIS Fiscal Year 2016-17. Testing of replacement bulbs should be undertaken prior to full replacement to ensure compatibility with current ballasts and light intensity and color is suitable for office application.
Occupancy sensor enabled control for lights is recommended for all spaces in basement. 1st and 2nd floor where lights are currently controlled manually, i.e., lunch room, training rooms – C1.& C2, telecommunication room, controller room, cubical and private office spaces in 1st and 2nd floor, electrical room, janitor room etc. Manually controlled lights are turned on during occupancy and left on when unoccupied. This results in the unnecessary consumption of electricity.
Upgrading existing lighting with energy efficient LEDs results in demand reduction and electricity savings. The replacement of fluorescent lights to LEDs is recommended for all the T8 fixtures and other lamps like PAR30 or 2-tubed PL. Each fixture for 4ft T8s consists of varying lamps from 1-4. The estimated 893 fixtures for 4ft T8 -32 Watt florescent lamp are recommended to be replaced with 17 W LED equivalents.
Converting to LED lights and installing occupancy sensors will produce significant Energy Savings and significant reduction in Greenhouse House Gas produced by the facility. A copy of the energy audit information as it relates to this project will be provided to the successful consultant after award, refer to appendix 10 for an estimated quantity of associated fixtures. Prior to IAR, a mockup will be necessary as outlined in the requirements document. Reference sections 5; and 5.7.2.
