Description

Contractor services are to complete the upgrade of AHU in the mechanical room located in the mechanical penthouse of Oxford Building as per the bid package, including equipment, supervision, testing, tools, labour, materials, consumable and installed materials, and services.
AHU-1 replacement of the air handling unit includes the following:

Replacement Air Handling Unit, complete with supply fan(s), two-stage filters with electronic type final filter (MERV 15 equivalent), humidification dispersion tubes, direct-exchange cooling coil, heat recovery run-around loop preheat coil, dampers, actuators and control devices for temperature, humidity, and pressure.
Supply Fan and Return Fan VSDs disconnects replacement.
The installation of load reactors and harmonic filters is to be added where applicable.
Replacement Condensing Unit on the roof level
Replacement Humidifier on the Penthouse level
The installation of the preheat coil and associated piping, complete with circulating pump, valves and insulation.
The installation of control dampers and actuators at relief air openings
Temporary Air Handling Unit will meet building demand throughout the duration of construction.
Rebalancing of the AHU system, including all floor-level VAVs.
Any necessary Mechanical/Electrical connections.
Any required abatement to make the work area safe.

Bidder:

According to the new standards introduced under the Workers Compensation Act, the Bidder must be licensed to engage in asbestos abatement activities such as removing, repairing, transporting or disposing of materials that contain asbestos minerals to operate in British Columbia.

Selected Key Personnel:

Key Personnel and any subcontractors engaging in asbestos abatement activities must be certified at the appropriate level as identified below.
- Level 1 (Foundational Awareness): required for persons transporting or disposing of Asbestos waste.
- Level 2 (Asbestos Safety): required for workers conducting abatement work.
- Level 3 (Asbestos Safety Leader): required for supervisors (people responsible for Health and Safety during Asbestos work).
- Level S (Surveyor Safety): required for Asbestos Surveyors.

All necessary modifications or patching of finishes are needed to do the work and make it good.

Bidders are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL teleconference to be held on the date and times specified within the item 2.6.15 of the ITT document. Bidders are advised that they must preregister via email, and on behalf of their authorized representatives including sub-contractors, to the procurement specialist named in this ITT by the date indicated in item 2.6.15 of the ITT document to be authorized to attend the teleconference. Failure to register may result in the Bidder’s representatives being refused to attend the teleconference. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the teleconference time in the case when there are multiple teleconference times. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the teleconference by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the teleconference.

Bidders are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item C04 of Addendum 04. A maximum of two representatives of each Bidder, or its authorized representatives are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS representative at the 1st floor Lobby - Oxford Building at 280 Victoria Street, Prince George, BC. Bidders are advised that they must preregister via email, and on behalf of their authorized representatives including sub-contractors, to the procurement specialist named in this ITT by the date indicated in item C04 of Addendum 04 to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Bidder’s representative(s) being refused access to the site. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the site visit by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the site visit.
All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses, etc. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.
