Description

Scope of Work / Overview:

Protect the adjacent structures, trees, shrubs etc. throughout the construction period.
Remove the nine (9) existing columns supporting the porch roof structure and replace them. as well as their brick bases.
Remove and Replace the lower portion & footing of the two (2) larger support columns, below the 2nd floor Kitchen.
Demolish/dispose of the existing wooden deck/ramp/stairs, at the north elevations and rework the area as proposed
At the East & South Elevations: Replace and/or repoint any deteriorated brick in the former porch area
Supply & install heating mats and the additional required electrical equipment to support them.
Address Stormwater drainage issues at the existing porch overhang roof.

Section 2.7.1:
Bidders are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 2.6.15. A maximum of 3 representatives of each Bidder, or its authorized representatives, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS representative at the 5070 Sideline 22, Goodwood, On L0C 1A0. *Bidders are advised that they must preregister via email, and on behalf of their authorized representatives including sub-contractors, to the procurement specialist named in this ITT by the date indicated in item 2.6.15 to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Bidder’s representative(s) being refused access to the site.* BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. For mandatory site visits, Bidders are only required to attend one scheduled site visit to be eligible to bid. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the site visit by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the site visit.

Additional Bidding Instructions

All respondents must submit their questions for clarification on this portal only at www.bgis.merx.com. Request for clarification delivered by any other method will not be accepted.

Check section 5.3.4. in Invitation to Tender (ITT) document for ‘Mandatory Requirements’

Bids submitted at $100,000 or greater must upload the following bid security (“Bid Security”) in Merx:

a bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date; and
a confirmation from the Bidder’s surety (a performance bond and labor and materials payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price + Value Added Taxes) that, upon the Bidder being selected as the Selected Bidder, to furnish any contract security prescribed in the Contract in respect of the Work.
