Description

This procurement has two project numbers – GOC5134391-CS and GOC5134412-CS and covers three (3) labs that occupy portions of three (3) different floors respectively. The second and third floor labs are included in project number GOC5134412. Each project number will be tracked individually for administrative purposes and the Consultant will be required to provide information accordingly for performance tracking and reporting.

This project aims to modernize the following labs: DAS Lab (first floor), Food Safety Lab (second floor) and Lab 315 (third floor). The goal of this project (two project numbers) is to improve workflow, make better use of the space, improve health and safety, reduce energy consumption and lower operating cost. The project development is required to take an in-depth lifecycle view, that must consider a "full-system" approach throughout the project lifecycle (from initiation to close-out). For clarity on "full-system" approach, the options evaluation must consider the impacts of each option on the entire building as a "system" and provide innovative solution to Owner's requirements. A system may include, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, users of the space, adjacent spaces, etc.

Proponents are advised that there will be an Optional site visit to be held on the date and times specified within item 1.5 of the RFP document. A maximum of TWO representatives of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the Optional site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at the 2301 Midland Ave., Scarborough, ON. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Proponents are advised that they must preregister via email to (Thilothamy.Mohanakanthan@bgis.com) by the date and times specified within item 1.5 of the RFP document to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Proponents representative being refused access to the site. BGIS will contact all Proponents that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. Proponents cannot use a representative from another Proponent as its representative to attend the site visit.
