Description

Tank be replaced with new outdoor 950 litre double wall tank with interstitial

monitoring capability, concrete pad, and protection bollards. Work includes transfer of remaining product to new tank, removal, cleaning, and disposal of existing tank. New tank to be provided with provincial fuel storage tank registration. This tank will allow a generator run time of 91 hours at 75% load. The outdoor tank option was recommended by stakeholders during the report review stage and subsequently agreed by RCMP.

With replacement of the tank with an outdoor tank the existing sump should be filled in and made level with floor.
Existing tank fill and vent piping to be removed, cleaned, and disposal of. Existing penetrations in the exiting exterior wall to be filled in to match existing.
New fuel lines with material meeting current code and run overhead to allow for visual inspection will be installed. An electric solenoid type anti-siphon valve will be provided at the tank supply outlet fitting. Existing fuel piping will be drained of remaining product, removed, cleaned, and disposal of.
Existing burner style cartridge filter to be removed and a fuel polishing system be installed. Work includes associated electrical for power supply to system.
Work will be phased to install the new tank, piping, polishing system, and ancillary work prior to removing the existing tank from service to keep the generator fully operational during construction. A short duration outage will be required to switch supply and return fuel connections at the generator from existing to new.
