Description

Replacement of the PILC medium voltage cable A - Hydrovault ST due to age and leaking oil from high voltage termination point (pothead). This was discovered during the 2021 electrical maintenance shutdown. This cable is the only remaining PILC cable within the building and deemed to be part of the original construction (1969 - 1974, estimate cable age is 47-52 years). Cable fault will affect the load bus and protection CTs on the main MV BREAKER CB1 (06-205-001) feeding SWG#2 (06-220-004). An electrical consultant is required to investigate and report on deficiency or deficiencies, provide recommendations and the best recommended option will be implemmented. Consultant investigation can be conducted during regular working hours, where any investigation that will require any sort of system disruptions will need to be done after hours. Majority of investigations will be done within the 1ST hydro vault. Addtional access may be required within various locations.

Event Note

Please arrive early to get through Security, Photo ID and clearances are required.. You will meet BGIS Project Manager Laura Holland at the security desk of 101 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON. Bring valid ID, face mask and PPE. Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date specified within the item 2.6.15. of the ITT Document.. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit.
All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety shoes/boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and face mask. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.

Bidders are only required to attend one site visit (if the project has a mandatory site visit) to be eligible to bid.
