Description

Scope of Work/Overview:
Work of this Contract comprises of asbestos abatement located at 451 Talbot Street London, Ontario.
- Abatement work is to include the following:
- All items listed in Appendix A (highlighted yellow) – OHS Summary of Work
- All items listed in Appendix A (highlighted yellow) shall be abated as asbestos containing waste.
- Abatement shall be conducted following Type 2 procedures (Intermediate Precautions).
o Extent of work area is identified on Drawings in Appendix B.
- The abatement contractor will supply and install new piping and tank insulation and all fire stopping in all areas of asbestos abatement.
- The asbestos abatement contractor is responsible for the temporary removal and/or suspension of ductwork, piping, sprinkler systems, conduit, electrical boxes, etc in order to complete abatement in its entirety.
- In all areas of elevated work, the asbestos contractor will supply, assembly and dismantle the appropriate equipment to complete the required work such as lifts, scaffolds, etc.
- In all areas of work within the parking garages, the contractor will have to stage the work in order for tenants to access their vehicles.
- The abatement contractor will be responsible for providing a summary report, written in plain language, concerning the asbestos work, to be provided to BGIS prior to work.
- The abatement contractor will prepare a report that identifies the completed asbestos abatement work. This report shall be used to update the existing asbestos inventory.
- The abatement contractor will protect all floors, steps and landing with plywood (or other suitable alternative) from damage.
- The abatement contractor will provide temporarily lighting as required to complete project.
- For information on asbestos and other Designated Substances, refer to Appendix C Asbestos Containing Materials Re-assessment and Sections 02 82 00.02.
- All work shall be conducted between the hours of 18:00 and 02:00 daily.
- Refer to Specifications and Drawings for further details.

All Work must be completed by September 29, 2023

All respondents must submit their questions for clarification on this portal only at www.bgis.merx.com. Request for clarification delivered by any other method will not be accepted.

Check section 5.3.4. in Invitation to Tender (ITT) document for ‘Mandatory Requirements’

Bids submitted at $100,000 or greater must upload the following bid security in Merx:

a bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date; and
a confirmation from the Bidder’s surety (a performance bond and labor and materials payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price + Value Added Taxes) that, upon the Bidder being selected as the Selected Bidder, to furnish any contract security prescribed in the Contract in respect of the Work.
