Description

The building located at 145 McDermot Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba, known as the Customs Examining Warehouse, was designed and built in 1908, and is a four-story, flat-roofed, brick and stone structure topped with a metal cornice. The roof system is comprised of a one-way cast-in-place concrete structural slab for the existing main roof, loading dock roof and a metal deck with open web steel joists for the mechanical penthouse roof system. It is covered with a built-up roof assembly, which was replaced during the renovations in 1992 and is now at the end of its life expectancy (25yrs).
