Work of this Contract includes furnishing labour, materials, equipment, services, and other related expenses to execute complete construction of facility specified under Contract Documents.
Work covered under this contract for the building located 22 Bay St., Sault Ste Marie, ON includes but not limited to the following:
• The supply of the engineered equipment shop drawings to Ontario Government standards.
• The supply, programming, and commissioning an addressable fire alarm panel equipment and annunciator.
• The supply, programming, and commissioning of the addressable field devices is included for this particular work.
• The supply, and commissioning of the speaker and speaker/strobe signaling field devices is included for this particular work.
• The verification of the fire alarm system and devices as required by the Building Code.
• The standard training of staff.
• The inspection and testing with the project Engineer, and the City.
Fire Alarm Panel
The proposed system is a zoned addressable fire alarm system. The system is a non-coded, addressable, microprocessor-based fire alarm system. The system would have an LCD display for detailed annunciation along with LED annunciation for zone detail. All wiring and conduit of circuits will be new, terminated at those locations. The proposed location of the main fire alarm panel would be in the main electrical room.
Annunciator
Installation of the new fire alarm annunciators in the main vestibule and monitor office. The panels would have both LCD and LED annunciation to meet all code requirements.
Pull Stations
Addressable single stage type, metal, and finished in red with molded, raised-letter operating instructions of contrasting color. Station will mechanically latch upon operation and remain so until manually reset by opening with a key common with the control units. The pull station would have capability of being interfaced with a security system. The devices are wall mounted and are located as indicated on the drawings.

Smoke Sensors
The detectors shall use the photoelectric (light-scattering) principal to measure smoke density and shall, on command from the control panel, send intelligent data to the panel representing the analog level of smoke density. This device will give the building operator the capability to sense if the smoke sensor is dirty or in an alarm which would result in fewer false alarms. Being that the device is addressable it will also allow for faster response in an emergency situation with pinpoint locations. The devices are ceiling mounted and would be installed as indicated on the drawings.
Heat Sensor
Thermal detectors shall be intelligent addressable devices rated at 135 degrees Fahrenheit and have a rate-of-rise element. This device is typically ceiling mounted and located in closets, vaults, storage areas or hazardous areas. These devices are also used in lieu of sprinkler protection.
New Duct Sensor
Duct smoke detectors shall be a 24 VDC type with visual alarm and power indicators, and a reset switch. Each detector shall be installed upon the composite supply air ducts, with properly sized air sampling tubes.
New Control Module
Addressable Relay Modules shall be available for HVAC control and other building functions. The relay shall be form C and rated for a minimum of 2.0 Amps resistive or 1.0 Amps inductive.
New Horns
This is device is red and it is used to alert or signal occupants of an emergency situation. These devices are typically wall mounted for best operation.
New Combination Horns/Strobes
This device is used to visually alert and signal occupants of an emergency situation. These devices are wall mounted. These devices are also typically used in areas of high noise (corridors, fan rooms, etc.).
