GOC579945-CT-RFPQ - Request For Pre-Qualification for General Contractors - Replace Roof

Scope of Work/Overview:
Removal of existing roof assembly on the fifth level of the building and exposing the deck. The new roof assembly would consist of a rigid polyisocyanurate sloped insulation package in lieu of the expanded polystyrene package. Polyisocyanurate is more dimensionally stable than expanded polystyrene (EPS). Dimensional stability is important since insulation movement can translate up to the membrane level, and cause stress points in the membranes. These stress points can develop into wrinkles in the membranes and can cause seams to separate, lessening the service life of the assembly.  Polyisocyanurate also offers a higher R-value per inch when compared to EPS.  As a result, there would be an approximate 50% increase in R-value for the Level 5 roof areas.
