Scope of Work/Overview:
Replace Hydraulic Passenger Elevators.  This building has two 4 stop in-ground hydraulic elevators that operate as a duplex and were installed as part of the original building construction.  Add new door safety as well during replacement. Consultant to perform the engineering requirements to meet the objectives of the project. These elevators were installed as part of the original building construction circa 1994. They should be able to continue operation until the lifecycle end date of 2019. Some equipment on the elevators is no longer manufactured by Otis and is considered obsolete. In particular, the door detection is from the original installation and although it continues to operate the owner should be prepared to replace it if any issues arise. The elevators have in-ground cylinders which were installed prior to PVC protection becoming a mandatory Code requirement. In-ground elevator cylinders, like any buried pipe, have a chance of leaking. An oil leak below the building could be an environmental disaster. At the end of the elevators lifecycle, the cylinders should be replaced with Code compliant PVC protection. Recommended in 2016 Building Condition Report.
