GOC1768350-CS - Provide and Install New Lighting System Victoria Hall

Statement of Work/Overview:
Upgrade to the lighting system in Victoria Hall, utilizing flexible, state of the art lighting solutions. The existing pyramidal shaped glass ceiling above Victoria Hall presents significant lighting related challenges within the large multipurpose Hall. There are issues of far too much direct sunlight and glare in some areas and inadequate sunlight at others. There are also significant concerns related to uneven and insufficient lighting from the currently provided artificial electric lighting. To address the issue of direct sunlight and glare, Victoria Hall was originally designed with a motorized translucent sun-shade system to help reduce direct light penetration. However, these existing sun-shades provide only about 45% coverage of the existing glass ceiling and reduce the amount of light transmission by only 30% (approx.) and therefore do not fully remedy the noted issues. The awarded Consultant will be required provide a complete design package to address the following issues:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

• Propose solutions to address the uneven direct sunlight and glare and provide recommendations related the sun-shades;

• Propose solutions to address both day (as described above) and night conditions

• Provide a uniform source of artificial lighting (LED) throughout the entire room (up-lighting should also be considered);

• The solution  must also provide the flexibility of theatre type lighting for performances;

• Accurate broadcast  quality lighting must be provided during televised  events (motorized fixtures required);
