Statement of Work/Overview:
GENERAL SCOPE:
1. Lighting upgrades; mix of retubes (ballast by-pass type) and new LED fixtures;
2. New daylight harvesting sensors;
3. New wall switches with occupancy sensors;
4. New ceiling mounted occupancy sensors;
5. Replace lighting controllers: LCP1, LCP2, LCP3 and LCP4. The existing enclosures can be re-used. The new controllers will be networked together and have dimming channels for the daylight harvesting system. Other than what is indicated on the plans, the current zones will remain the same;
6. New software interface to be installed at the BGIS computer station located in the BGIS office (rm 218B). C/W Hardware interface to lighting controllers as required;
7. Network/low voltage wiring and power wiring;
8. System integration, programing, and training.
Mercury equipment must be removed intact to reduce the risk of releasing mercury and exposing workers.
Disposal of switches, fluorescent lamp tubes, electrical gauges etc. should be completed in accordance with O.Reg. 347/90, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992 and in accordance with all other appropriate provincial and federal regulations.
Prior to removal/ disposal, PCB content must be confirmed to determine proper procedures to be followed‐ Identification of Lamp Ballasts Containing PCBs, published by Environment Canada. Ballasts that contain PCBs must be packaged, transported and disposed of in accordance with all appropriate provincial and federal regulations. Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations SOR/2001‐286 and PCB Regulations (SOR/2008‐273)
Contractor to develop a recycling plan for reuse of materials.
ADDENDUM NO. 1
The following amendment to the Request for Quotation (“RFQ”) documents is considered to form part of the
RFQ document and/or the resulting Agreement, if any.
No consideration will be given for extras and/or changes due to the Supplier not being familiar with the contents
of this Addendum.
Clarification:
Question: When the fixtures are to be re lamped. Are we supposed to install a new LED driver or direct
connect do to the sockets with the driver built into the lamps?
Answer: For the fixtures indicated: Remove the Ballast, and retube with LED: integrated driver, Glass
Tube, 1800 lumens, 4000K, Modify Tombstones for un-shunted type as required.

Addendum #2
The following amendment to the Request for Quotation (“RFQ”) documents is considered to form part of the
RFQ document and/or the resulting Agreement, if any.
No consideration will be given for extras and/or changes due to the Supplier not being familiar with the contents
of this Addendum.
Clarification:
The lights in the south stairwell have already been replaced with LED. Remove from LED scope of
work. 1 light needs to be connected to the 24hr circuit like the other lights in the stairwell.
The lights in the north stairwell have already been replaced with LED. Remove from LED scope of
work
On the indicated part of the plans (office area); ensure that the lights are on their own light sensor,
since the corner does not get direct sunlight.
There are 7x, 2 lamp fixtures in the penthouse; remove ballast and retube fixtures with LED, ballast
bypass, glass tube, 1800lumens, 4000k. Modify tombstones for unshunted type as required. Add an
occupancy sensor to the space

• Question: Are there any drawings or information in regards to LCP1, LCP2, LCP3 and LCP4?
• ANSWER: Refer the the attached for a picture of an exitsing lighting controller. No other drawings
available.
