Statement of Work/Overview:
 
GENERAL SCOPE:
The scope of the project pertaining to the 3 & 6 year electrical maintenance high and low voltage systems at the federal office building at 120 Cedar Street S., Timmins, includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following scope of work:
 
1.            Inspect, clean and document as found conditions on electrical and mechanical equipment.
2.            Compare equipment nameplate information with the latest single-line diagram; report and fix discrepancies.
3.            Check for roper anchorage, clearances, physical damage and proper alignments.
4.            Inspect and clean all bus connections.
5.            Tighten and torque cable in lugs as per cable manufacturer recommendations.
6.            Verifying for proper installations.
7.            Verification of appropriate lubricant.
8.            Exercise main air circuit breakers and tie breaker to verify their operability.
 
Refer to consultant generated plans and specifications for further detailed scope of work.

Clarification: Q & A:
Question 1:
Can you please provide the name of manufacturer or its representative to perform maintenance work on the ATS as
specified Section 01 11 00 Item 1.2.5 and Section 26 05 26 Item 1.4.5? Answer: MS – No, transfer switch is not part
of this project.
Question 2:
Do we need to test the Emergency Systems (Engine Generator) as per section 26 05 26?
If yes, can you please provide the name of manufacturer or its representative to perform maintenance work on the
Emergency Systems (Engine Generator)? Answer: MS – No, generator test is not part of this project.
Question 3:
Do we need to test the Fire Pump 600V, 3 Phases 10HP Panel?
If yes, which test is required?
If test need to be performed by manufacturer or its representative can you please provide the name? Answer: MS –
No, fire pump is not part of this program.
Question 4:
No Cash allowance is provided for all HV related work to be performed by local power provider as per section 01 11
00 item 1.2.6 and section 26 05 26 item 1.4.6
Can you please provide cash allowance to carry? Answer: MS – Please provide a cash allowance of $5,000 for service
from Sudbury Utility Company.

Question 5:
Section 26 00 00 Item 1.28.3 ‘’Pay all fees required by Power Authority.’’
Do we need to carry these fees? Seem to be included by cash allowance see section 01 11 00 Item 1.2.6 Answer: MS
– These services to be included in cash allowance, see section 01 11 00 Item 1.2.6.
Question 6:
No cash allowance is provided for Items 1.12.3 section 26 00 00 Contractor shall provide final approvals from Power
Authority, ESA and pay all fees. Use approved cash allowance for separate itemized units.
Can you please provide cash allowance to carry? Answer: MS – Please refer to A4 above.
Question 7:
Item 1.7.1 section 26 05 26
Do we need to provide an independent inspection and testing consultant? Complete co‐ordination study seem to be
provided by Stantec as per section 01 11 00 Item 1.2.11 and Item 1.4.3.2 Answer: MS – Short circuit, arc flash and
coordination study is already completed by Stantec. Awarded contractor is responsible to install hazard label
stickers on equipment and adjust settings as recommended from coordination study by Stantec. Arc flash stickers
will be generated by Stantec and handed over to the awarded contractor.
Question 8:
Do the work will be performed during regulars hours (Monday Thru Friday) as specified in attachment 6 scope of
work or after hours 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (Monday Thru Friday)? Answer: MS – Since there will be disruption to
services, this work is to be completed after hours.
Question 9:
Item 1.8.2 and 1.8.5 Section 26 05 26. Do we need to provide this information with our bid? Answer: MS – Yes, the
person(s) shall be qualified as per NETA preventive maintenance guidelines and the contractor must have past
experience on projects with similar SOW.

Closing Time and Date has been extended from to 2:00 PM ET on August 24, 2017 to 2:00 PM ET on
August 29, 2017.
