Objective: RCMP requests the following work: This is a Non-Tenant direct with a D4 priority and an X1 qualifier: Seed funding - Supply And Install (1) Battery Cabinet Complete With DC Breaker.
- Supply And Install (40) UPS Batteries To Replace Existing String in Existing UPS Cabinet
- Install Cabling To Tie The Battery Strings Together.
Additional Description:
1.1 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
.1 Work of this Contract comprises replacement of UPS batteries including interconnecting
cables, located at RCMP “K” Division Headquarters.
.2 The Contractor is not responsible for the supply/purchasing of the new UPS. New UPS
will be purchased and supplied by BGIS. Another contractor under Project #
GOC4978965 will be responsible for the installation.
.3 Work is to occur while the existing UPS is in Bypass Mode, Contractor shall have close
coordination with the Consultant, BGIS Representative and facility manager for any work
that could cause disruptions to facility power and/or operations.
.4 UPS Battery Replacement:
.1 Provide new UPS batteries (40 batteries) with new batteries of the same type and
ratings as the old batteries, including interconnecting battery cables, as indicated
on drawings.
.2 Coordinate with BGIS Representative for equipment shutdown scheduling.
.3 Patch and repair all surfaces affected by renovation.
.4 Provide temporary protective barricade around the work area, & temporary
construction safety signages (in English & French).
.5 Demolition:
.1 Disconnect and remove existing UPS batteries (40 batteries) including all
associated interconnecting cables as indicated on drawings.
.2 All existing electrical equipment that will not be re-used shall be turned over to
the BGIS Representative for right of first refusal. Items refused by the BGIS
Representative shall become property of the Contractor and shall be removed
from the site.
.6 Testing & Commissioning:
.1 Provide required load banks indicated on Specification Section 26 33 16 for
testing & commissioning of batteries.
.2 Coordinate with BGIS for the quantity and duration of necessary power
shutdowns required for testing and commissioning.
.3 Provide a shutdown schedule for review to BGIS and Consultant prior to testing
and commissioning.
.4 Test and commission UPS Batteries and provide test and commissioning reports
to BGIS and Consultant.
.7 All required construction coordination with BGIS related to this project shall be done by
contractor.
