INCLUDE CARD/FOB READER, CONTROL, DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING SYSTEM INTEGRATIONS FOR ALL NEW DOORS SYSTEM
CONTRACTOR IS TO VERIFY QUANTITIES AND DIMENSIONS ON THE SITE, SCOPE AND REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE CONSULTANT BEFORE PROCEEDING
THESE DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTION UNTIL AUTHORIZED IN WRITING BY THE CONSULTANT
THE CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE DETAILED SHOP DRAWINGS OF DOORS AND FRAME FOR APPROVAL THAT INDICATE: CONNECTION OF DOOR AND FRAME COMPONENTS TO THE EXISTING BUILDING SYSTEM WITH FASTENERS, ALUMINIUM EXTRUSIONS, STOPS, GLAZING, SEALS, GASKETS, THERMAL BREAKS, SHIMS AND SEALANTS.
CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE DETAILED HARDWARE SCHEDULE AS PER SITE CONDITIONS AND OWNER REQUEST
CONTRACTOR TO INTEGRATE SECURITY FILM AS PER PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND DESIGNS
CONTRACTOR TO FOLLOW AND COMPLY WITH THE AODA, CSA-NSC, OBC AND BGIS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACCESSIBLE DOOR OPERATORS. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE SECUIRTY AND DOOR OPERATOR INSTALLATION PROCEDURES LAYOUT AND DETAILS FOR APPROVAL
INCLUDE VISUALLY CONTRASTING MARKINGS ON ALL GLAZED DOORS TO COMPLY WITH CSA B651:23, SECTION 5.2
CLEAR OPENINGS THROUGH DOORS TO COMPLY WITH CSA B651:23, SECTION 5.2
REPAIR, PATCH AND MAKE GOOD ANY EXISTING BUILDING AND SITE ELEMENTS WHICH ARE DISTURBED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. REPAIRS ARE TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT BUILDING ELEMENTS AND ARE TO CONFORM TO THE HERITAGE CHARACTER OF THE EXISTING BUILDING.
ALL DOOR THRESHOLDS TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF CSA B651:23, SECTION 5.2.6
CONTRACTOR TO ENGAGE HARDWARE SUPPLIER TO IDENTIFY THE HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS OF EACH NEW DOOR SYSTEM, AS PER THE LATEST BUILDING CODE, ACCESSIBILITY CODE AND BGIS STANDARDS.
APPLY THE SECURITY FILM ON ALL EXTERIOR GLAZINGS, INCLUDING TRANSOMS AND SIDELITES, FROM THE GLAZING BASE TO 1321MM (WOMEN'S SHOULDER HEIGHT, 50TH/ PERCENTILE).

Additional Bidding Instructions

All respondents must submit their questions for clarification on this portal only at www.bgis.merx.com. Request for clarification delivered by any other method will not be accepted.

Check section 5.3.4. in Invitation to Tender (ITT) document for ‘Mandatory Requirements’

Bids submitted at $100,000 or greater must upload the following bid security (“Bid Security”) in Merx:

a bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date; and
a confirmation from the Bidder’s surety (a performance bond and labor and materials payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price + Value Added Taxes) that, upon the Bidder being selected as the Selected Bidder, to furnish any contract security prescribed in the Contract in respect of the Work.
