The intent of this project is to tie into the existing BPI & FDD system which establishes remote access to the
Building Automation System (BAS), implements long-term data archiving and utilizes Fault Detection & Diagnostic
(FDD). A remote access to the BAS will be established using the existing centralized server and software (with
web interface and BACnet communication protocol), which acts as the single front-end access to all connected
buildings within the Portfolio. Long-term data archiving will be implemented to store BAS trend logs and data for
the purpose of the FDD. Each building will have its own data storage device. Archived trend logs shall be
accessible through the centralized server and software. The data analytics portion of the scope consists of utilizing
the software to extend the capability of the BAS by gathering all the trend log data for in-depth analysis of
performance, including fault detection and system diagnostics (FDD) that generates actionable insights. The
software employs artificial intelligence, statistical methods and algorithms, to automatically detect and diagnose
deviations between actual and optimal HVAC system performance. Insights will be generated based on the rules
set up (adjustable by the users) within the software and ranked by priority. Summary of insights (identified,
completed, etc. along with potential savings), custom reports and dashboards are easily available from the data
analytics software. It is crucial that the information within the software is specific to the building and the systems: it
is expected that the Contractor will provide support and will tweak parameters and rules as necessary or as
requested by BGIS during the first year of operation. The scope includes the initial setup, configuration,
commissioning and training of the entire system (related to the newly installed systems only), as well as the first
year of annual subscription for the software license (SaaS). NOTE: The intent is not to add any sensors, meters
or control points but it should be identified by the Contractor if there are any known gaps for future
consideration/expansion. This project will be implemented in consultation and close coordination with the Energy
Managers and Commissioning Specialist, and BGIS IoT. Work shall be compliant with all BGIS IoT/ PSPC
security/IT policies and guidelines.
The Consultant shall identify any connectivity concerns with integrating the above systems, and the Contractor is
responsible for ensuring the above existing BAS is fully integrated with the BPI-FDD system.
