Description

Concluding the PSPC elevator audit at the C. D. Howe Building, a recommendation was made by the auditor to install a handle or ladder system in the tandem elevator machine rooms. "Additional recommendation: ASME A17.1 2010/ CSA B44-10 2.7.3.3.2- adding a handle system to use when accessing the secondary machine room level would aid in safe access to the space." The C. D. Howe elevator service provider has provided a quote and recommended installing the following: to eliminate the fall hazard to access the secondary machine room, with a depth of 7¿ install a custom ladder extension to work around the existing ladder to extend up to 36¿ to provide a safe means of accessing and egressing the area. One removable barricade that can be secured at any time the access door is open to protect the area will also be provided.

Please meet BGIS Project Manager at the security desk of CD Howe Building, 240 Sparks St, Ottawa, ON. Bring valid ID, face mask and PPE.
Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date specified within the item 2.6.15. of the ITT Document.. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit.

All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety shoes/boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and face mask. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.

Bidders are only required to attend one site visit (if the project has a mandatory site visit) to be eligible to bid.

Pre-Registration is no longer required.
