RCMP requests the following work: This is a Non-Tenant direct with a D4 priority and an X1 qualifier: Seed funding. The architectural/engineering firm will have to issue drawings in the following 3 phases to support a linear construction schedule. These are 3 separate units, each requiring their own space to be fit-up, but work is inter-related.
1) Design of vacant OCC space (which includes room 435) with goal of converting it into 2 separate, useable office spaces. One for SSC and one for Body Worn Camera unit. Room 436 which is a LAN room, to remain as is. Both units require general office space, no special infrastructure required.
2) Once layout and design completed, then construction of BWC space would be the priority, followed by construction of SSC space
3) Design and construction of a new Divisional Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC) at RCMP D Division. Design for a new space could commence at same time as design of SSC and BWC spaces, but the construction portion can only start once the new space for SSC is completed.
The current DEOC is located in room 402A - see attached floor plan. They plan on doubling their footprint by taking over a substantial proportion of the adjacent space labelled SSC. The DEOC is a space that is used to handle emergency incidents in the province. There are a lot of technological and cabling requirements in this room so design would need to be coordinated with RCMP I/T department. Some design components include the following: retractable wall to allow room to be divided in half so that two incidents could be handled simultaneously, sound proof negotiating room, 2 consoles for 911 operators, raised flooring, other I/T equipment supported (ie. tv monitors, smart boards to be procured by RCMP) a couple of additional single office spaces.
