Project Overview:
Consultant to provide a study to assess all occupant access areas for the feasibility to have touchless or antimicrobial elements to navigate the building without any physical contact with these elements or eliminate any cross-contamination. The study shall include an assessment of the following areas/elements, but not limited to: bldg entrances, common areas and washroom doors; doors shall automatically open with a touchless option or installation of antimicrobial door hardware. Review product options such as automatic doors with motion detection sensors or optical sensors, touchless accessible door opener and door hardware that eliminates cross-contamination. The consultant must take into consideration building security requirements. Base building; Washroom accessories; Antimicrobial washroom partition accessories such as; latches, grab bars, door pulls, etc. Elevator controls; controls to have a contactless option or antimicrobial properties. Review technology that is touchless, voice activated or self-cleaning buttons. Occupancy Monitoring; Sensor technology that monitors occupancy capacity in real-time.
All recommended products and solutions must be tested and ULC certified including a preference to Canadian products. All recommended products and solutions must follow the latest CSA B651 "Accessible Design for the built Environment".
The study shall include at least three (3) sections:
Section 1: Existing condition of each element - a detailed evaluation of each existing element shall indicate if it currently meets the intended objective of touchless or antimicrobial properties. This section shall include plans and photos of the existing conditions. Each element shall be referenced by room and room/door number.
Section 2: Products and solutions - Provide a detailed description of products and solutions that shall include pros/cons. Each product/solution shall include an article reference(s) to demonstrate that the recommended products and solutions meet the latest standards and shall include a Class 'D' estimate.
Section 3: Recommendations - Consultant shall provide a recommendation on the best suitable option. Durability and maintenance costs shall be considered. Consultant to provide a recommended schedule by Phases based on complexity and faster implementation

Update: We still count the 9 pages and remove extras, but leave mandatory requirement pages on. As such, BGIS would like to bring your attention to the following section of the RFP Lite:
3.3.1 Proponents shall respond to the Mandatory and Rated Requirements outlined in Part 4 – Proposal Submission Requirements and present their Technical Proposal in the format specified and in compliance with the page count stated in table 4.9 “Total Page/Weight”. Information provided on pages beyond the stated limit will not be reviewed and evaluated. BGIS will count from the first page of the Technical Proposal (excluding Mandatory Requirements) until the total number of pages allowed is reached. BGIS will not review any pages that exceed the limit. Mandatory requirements should be submitted as the first document(s) in the Technical Proposal but shall be excluded in the page count.
