GOC3691901-CS - GOC3691901 - Feasibility Study for Annex Sewage Treatment for AQC2 and AQC3 Cert

The project proposed is to modify the drainage system of Annex building labs to meet the requirements of an AQC2 and AQC3 lab respectively for DFO certification process.  To meet these standards the effluent will need to be treated with chlorine or similar disinfectant to kill pathogens in the waste stream.  Refer to document "CFIA Containment Standards for Facilities Handling Aquatic Animal Pathogens" for standards to be considered.  The scope of the study will include section 3.5.6 Liquid Effluent Treatment for Live Animal Holding Facilities from the above document.  Other sections of the certification process are out of scope of this project. Applicable sanitary/storm sewage discharge criteria as defined by the municipal requirements must also be considered.
Consultant will need to perform a feasibility study to propose options to deal with Pathogens generated from the Annex building fish holding operation.  All options to include installation costs and estimate of lifecycle cost estimates to operate each system.  Options to include but not limited to using a liquid, gas or solid halogen to treat the sewage.  Each option will need to detail the delivery of product, storage, make-down system, application point, and controls & monitoring required for a new system to meet the needs of the CFIA certification.  The current tanks overflow into a sump pit so the system will need to be designed to handle the overflow or treat the fluid that ends up overflowing into the sump pit.
