Description

To perform a study on fire separation on both Willson and Coach House. A comprehensive assessment for fire separations on both Wiilson and Coach House shall be performed based on the latest National Building Code, National Fire Code of Canada and Treasury Board Fire Protection Standard. This shall include reviewing, but not limited to, all fire separations (walls, floors, etc), means of egress, fireproofing, fire rated doors and frames including hardware, fire rated glazing, etc. Review of the exits and mechanical and electrical rooms. Any documents that are available to help with the assessment, such as existing construction plans shall be referenced before the study shall be conducted and any other pertaining documents that are available to locate existing elements.
The report shall consist of four (4) sections:
- Section 1: Description - Describe the existing building and indicate all the different major occupancy requirements as per code.
- Section 2: Condition - A detailed evaluation of each element of the building against the technical and code requirements (including site visit logbook with names and dates).
- Section 3: Deficiencies - A summary of each element of the building that do not comply with the National Building Code and National Fire Code (including plans, pictures of the deficiencies, room and door number references and the reference to the standard articles);
- Section 4: Recommendations & Costing - A list of each element that need to be revised to achieve compliance with the code, as well as order of magnitude costing for every major items (e.g. fire separations, means of egress, doors/frames).

Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified above. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at Wilson House - 654 Meech Lake Rd. Chelsea, Qc. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times.

All individuals attending the site visit must bring their Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses, etc. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.

COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.

Additional Bidding Instructions

BGIS would like to bring your attention to the following section of the RFP Lite. The limit of pages that will be evaluated for this project is 9 pages. Any bid response that exceeds the 9-page limit will only have the first 9 pages of the submission evaluated.

3.3.1 Proponents shall respond to the Mandatory and Rated Requirements outlined in Part 4 – Proposal Submission Requirements and present their Technical Proposal in the format specified and in compliance with the page count stated in table 4.9 “Total Page/Weight”. Information provided on pages beyond the stated limit will not be reviewed and evaluated. BGIS will count from the first page of the Technical Proposal (excluding Mandatory Requirements) until the total number of pages allowed is reached. BGIS will not review any pages that exceed the limit. Mandatory requirements should be submitted as the first document(s) in the Technical Proposal but shall be excluded in the page count.
