To provide an accessible environment from the street and parking to the building entrance(s) and building amenities as requested by the Lean Foward Initiative, exterior approach and main entrances must conform to items #4, of the 22 items identified by PSPC (see list provided) in order to comply with the latest National Building Code and the latest CSA B651 standard. As part of this project, the consultant shall review building entrance and intercoms requested taking in account of all signage, color, materials and lighting, clear adjacent area and clear floor area to provide an safely, independently and fairly intercoms using. The consultant shall ensure the intercom is connecting with someone is responsible for accepting requests for assistance.

To provide an accessible environment from the street and parking to the building entrance(s) and building amenities as requested by the Lean Foward Initiative,certain elements of the building and the immediate environment must conform to items #2 , #4, #6, #11, #12 , #13 and #14 of the 22 items identified by PSPC (see list provided) in order to comply with the latest National Building Code and the latest CSA B651 standard. As part of this project, the consultant shall review all existing exterior signage, within the barrier-free travel path, and correct any deficiencies, including (but not limited to): missing signs, misplaced signs, location and distances, color, materials and lighting, on ramps, entry doors, paving, walls and ceilings, covering all requirements related to tactile directional or attention indicators, contrasting markings on glass walls and intercoms. The consultant shall review all existing elevators and correct any deficiencies related including (but not limited to): missing operating devices or keypad, misplaced operating or keypad, location, clear area to use it, color and lighting contrast and signage .The consultant shall investigate all possible options for each signage support and present additions, deletions and any other modifications to the immediate environment necessary to meet codes and to provide a safety accessible environment. The consultant shall study to the condition, stability and grading of the existing architectural elements at the street entrance to ensure that all signage corrections provide safe visibility and use of this area, from the arrival of a city bus at the nearest bus stop for example or from the arrival of a para-transpo vehicle.

As part of this project, the consultant shall review all existing exterior signage, and correct any deficiencies, including (but not limited to): missing signs, misplaced signs, location and distances, color, materials and lighting, on ramps, entry doors, paving, walls and ceilings, covering all requirements related to tactile directional or attention indicators, contrasting markings on glass walls and intercoms at two entrances; East and South side.
