The project intent is to solicit the services of an established environmental consulting firm with the experience,
technical abilities, resources, and trained personnel to provide the services detailed herein in accordance with
all applicable standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
This will facilitate a comprehensive review of the existing conditions for the purpose of repair and will take into
consideration potential solutions as identified by BGIS. The findings of that review will be presented to the
Crown for consideration in order to facilitate the required corrective measures. Not proceeding with these
projects could result in add consequences, and risks associated with not proceeding with the project (i.e.
ongoing Health and Safety Concerns, equipment failure, etc.
The scope of work will be:
1.1 Conduct an assessment on worker exposure and likelihood of exposure to designated substance(s) in
the workplace.
1.1.1 Conduct a desktop review of historical documents and interview with BGIS operations team(s)
to develop an inventory of known buildings materials and locations that contain confirmed
designated substances.
1.1.2 Collect bulk samples of materials suspected of containing designated substances
1.1.3 Perform a quantification and qualification assessment of building materials confirmed and
suspected of containing designated substances.
1.1.4 Provide measures and procedures necessary to control worker exposure to designated
substances by means of engineering controls, work practices, and hygiene facilities and
practices.
1.1.5 Provide requirements for removal and disposal of designated substance to be used in the
event of planned disturbances.
1.2 Submission of a written report for each building detailing the results and recommendations.
