.1 Provide all supervision, tools, equipment, formwork, scaffolding, shoring, hoarding, protection, temporary walkways, materials, administrative services, insurance, bonds and permits to execute all Work as specified including all requirements detailed under Divisions 1.
.2 Remove existing terrazzo flooring from the surface of the main entrance lobby, to expose the concrete surface and to prepare a sound and clean surface, as indicated and directed.
.1 Contractor shall maintain access to the Canada Post Office during regular business hours.
.2 The work shall be divided into two or more phases so as to maintain access as indicated on the drawings.
.3 Work phases shall be divided by full height hording wall, including accessible, secured doors as necessary.
.4 The provision for maintaining access shall include the removal, replacement, modification and reinstatement of the affected doors as necessary and required to complete the work.
.5 The contractor is required to install one or more accessible door openers as directed and required.
.3 Identify with red spray paint the extent of any defective concrete within the work areas at the main lobby by means of hammer tapping or chain dragging, as specified and directed.
.4 Remediate defective concrete by selective removal and disposal of deteriorated concrete from the interior suspended slab, including preparation of exposed concrete and reinforcing steel; installation of new coated reinforcing steel; provision of formwork; pouring or placement of new concrete or patch materials; surface finishing and curing of repair area, as specified, indicated and directed.
.5 Prepare concrete surfaces to suit required repairs, including but not limited to: shot blasting; sand blasting; brushing; compressed air spray; removing paint coatings; removing all existing traffic topping and membrane materials; all deleterious stains due to oil, anti-freeze, transmission fluids, and the like; chipping and grinding, as
specified and directed.
.6 Rout out cracks greater than 1.5mm in width on top surface of interior slab, including application of bond break and sealant materials, and detailing as required for flooring installation, as specified and directed.
.7 Install new terrazzo flooring at the main lobby, as specified and directed to match existing.
.8 Install new recessed floor grill as specified and directed.
.9 Resurface existing terrazzo flooring at indicated and directed.
.1 All horizontal, vertical and rounded surfaces, including terrazzo wall base, shall be resurfaced.
.2 Resurfacing shall include all terrazzo stairs as indicated including all horizontal, vertical and rounded surfaces.
.1 Remove and replace all anti-slip strips at all stair treads.
.10 Locally remove and replace terrazzo flooring, including horizontal, vertical and rounded surfaces as indicated to match existing
.11 Clean work area and remove all debris.
.12 Contractor shall make provisions for the coring and testing of the existing slab concrete, with a minimum of three cores per repair phase, as specified and directed by the Engineer. Tests shall include, but not be limited to, compression and chloride testing in accordance with all applicable standards.
.13 The contractor shall be responsible for repairing, replacing and/or reinstating any and all affected building components and site features, which are affected by the work.
.1 Contractor shall perform CCTV scan of all drains within the work areas to ensure that they are free from blockages both prior to commencing the work and after completion of the work.
