Description

Resolve ongoing water infiltration around atrium areas which occurs during wind-driven rain.

The existing construction conditions above the Atrium window heads must be confirmed on site. Localized test holes are required at selected brick areas and interior gypsum board removal above the Atrium windows.
Test holes required to confirm the following:
• Location and condition of through-wall flashings.
• Location and condition of existing air barrier.
• Condition and type of brick ties to concrete block substrate.
• Condition of brick support shelf angle and HSS window head structural components.
• Confirm what was previously done at Atrium window head repairs, including “Blueskin” detail. (5 courses of brick previously replaced)
Localized areas of destructive testing to confirm existing construction, components and physical conditions. Tests must be carried out in spring/warm weather to facilitate repairs and application of temporary remedial materials. Conditions may vary somewhat at each Atrium window area. However, the typical detail supplied in the original documents (1992) must be verified at the “worst” opening along Dorchester Street. Any observations made in this location will be regarded as typical for all Atrium window areas.
Consultant to provide a separate price for each exterior test hole and a separate price for each interior test hole. Separate prices must include all labour and materials associated with cutting and repairing test holes.

Bidders are advised that they must send completed COVID-19 Fit for Duty Questionnaire (attached) via email to (Veronica.Nicksy@bgis.com) by July 21st before 2:00 PM AST/ADT Time, to be authorized to access the site. Failure to submit a completed questionnaire will result in the Bidder’s Representative being refused access to the site. BGIS will then contact all Bidders that submit a completed questionnaire to register for and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. Submission of the completed questionnaire will be used as the pre-registration of the Optional Site Visit.
A maximum of one representative of each Bidder, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit.
Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site. COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.
