Description

The intent of this project is to determine the source(s) of water permeating into the Building and to implement a solution to eliminate this infiltration; once the source has been eliminated, repairs will be required to water damaged structural, envelope or mechanical equipment. These repairs will include, without being limited to, spalling concrete, rusted plumbing or electrical components and removal of salt crystallization; PSPC Cliff lines are not to be repaired. A consultant will be required to complete the assessment and prepare the scope before construction. Initial investigation by BGIS operations has revealed that salty water appears to be entering from the Mackenzie King Bridge expansion joint, into the steam and chilled water entry areas on the 2nd floor North Tower and is following these lines to the basement (including BS014). There may be other sources of water that have yet to be determined and the alleyway between the 1NT hydro vault and adjacent structure should be reviewed as well for adequate drainage.

1. Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 1.4 above. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Project Manager at the Mackenzie bridge entrance of 101 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa ON. Photo ID required. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Proponents are advised that they must preregister via email to Abeera.Akram@bgis.com by date specified in item 1.4 of the RFP Lite document to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Proponent’s Representative being refused access to the site.

2. Consultants are to meet at Mackenzie entrance for sign in during their designated time slot (Government issued photo ID required). PPE Required: Steel toes and hard hat.
