GOC2209101-1-CS - HVAC Piping Study - Phase II

A previous study was completed in March 2018, repair and replace implementation began in Septemeber 2018. This study however, did not address all HVAC piping. Since the study was complete, we have opened and completed or completing, 2 emergency repair projects on piping that was not inspected in the study for cost +200k. This is a clear indication that all HVAC piping is in need or repair/replacement. A treatment system was added to the hydronic heating loop this past FY, however previous to this system addition, the water was never treated (50+yrs). The piping is full of sludge build up because of this. Thinning of the pipe walls was indicated in the previous report, and we believe this is also the case with the piping that was not inspected. A full inspection of all HVAC piping is needed to determine the best course of action for repair/replace.
