GOC2466859-CS - CBSA New Build: Design of a Single Storey Building

New point of entry single storey building to be constructed 200 m down river from the existing building, on infill land, at Walpole Island. The infill land would include sufficient space to provide a three (3) lane queuing area sufficient to accommodate a minimum of 24 vehicles, a pedestrian sidewalk, a “wet” detention cell, septic holding tank, administrative space and parking. The new building would be located on federal land, adjoining the Walpole Island First Nations. The Walpole Island border crossing currently consists of a building constructed on wharf land, staffed by Canadian Border and Service Agency (CBSA) and two (2) ferries operated by the Walpole Island First Nation. The ferry runs from Walpole Island to Algonac, Michigan from 07:00 h to 23:00 h seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, weather permitting.
