Description

The intent of this project is the replacement and upgrade of the roof anchors and safety systems for Buildings 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Carling Campus, Ottawa as detailed by the prime consultant drawings and specifications. Procured work will include the decommissioning of all existing anchors and installation of a newly designed fall arrest anchor system on the main roof and penthouse roofs. Implementation of new guardrails near entrances to the main roof will be completed to maintain life, safety measures and ease of roof access. Also, replacement of the existing fixed ladders with new fixed ladders that conform to current safety standards and regulations and a steel grating ramp with landing and guard rail be provided for passage over the existing cable tray located on the main roof where applicable. Project activities will need to account for roof membrane warranty currently in place requiring vendors to hire and manage the roofing contractor that completed the roof. All work within occupied areas of the building or which might involve noise activities or impositions that would disrupt tenant work will need to occur after-hours. All completed work, will require third party verification and testing.
